Posts: 14,629 Group: Super-Mod Member #9 Joined: August 4, 2004	This teacher resigned under pressure because the school received an anonymous email expressing disgust at a status update saying she was going to "bitch bingo with her bitches." Also, she had 10 pictures of herself holding alcohol. According to the teacher, her profile was and is set to private and she has never even friended a student. A HUR. It seems like social networking sites are getting people in to trouble at work ALL the TIME now. I feel like these kind of reactions are ridiculous and unfair to the person involved. Maybe there would be grounds to fire her or whatever If her profile were more scandalous and public and if she had friended students, but as it stands it seems like this lady did everything right.

When I read the email complaint it really does scream "NOT A REAL PARENT!" reading my above post, I think now that it doesn't make sense. Kindly disregard. And let's face it, even the most computer savvy parent's can't resist putting three extra exclamation marks to show just how outraged, or surprised, or happy etc they are about something (!!!!!!!!!!).

But I dunno if the privacy settings thing is true or not, because i've since gotten rid of my facebook.

Otherwise they just keep it on file "in case you want to reactivate it." As for the layout thing, it defaulted into a more secure state as far as I'm aware... I still think that what she does on her own time, as long as its not illegal, is her own business.
