what's the deal? this shit gets awards from bodybuilding.com and i know friends that used it and now their jacked as hell (mostly from creatine), but then on the other had BSN gets sued for their products not working, and many people are claiming their products are a waste of money

i try to stay away from as many supplements as possible but if i hit a point where i cant gain anymore weight from diet alone i as thinking about going on creatine

probably not the best place to ask but if anyone has ever used no-xplode/shotgun, what's your opinion on it?

Devin Lukomski and Garret Grimsley started taking it last year, and neither of them gained any weight. It's supposed to work, though...

do you know what their calorie intake was? were they taking in protein and working out enough? were they doing compound lifts or isolation?

laugh out loud, i worked out everyday after school at austin, i only gained 10 pounds in two years. i wasn't doing the right workouts (i was isolating), and i wasnt eating enough (calorie wise and protein/carb wise), and i wasnt consistent. took me that long to finally figure out what im supposed to be doing and what diet i need (along with many talks with bodybuilders at UH) and i gained 10 more pounds in the last week. well as fate would have it, i got sick and lost half of that weight (with my luck it was prolly all muscle lost), but ill be back up by monday. i was almost on the verge of quitting weightlifting until i found that light at the end of the tunnel.

it kinda pisses me off though that after almost 3 years of this im still nowhere with my body laugh out loud

You're not supposed to work out your upper body every day I rolled on the floor, laughing. You're supposed to work out every other day, that way your muscles can heal for a day and then you tear them up the next day.

Though, creatine is supposed to speed up that process so you can work out everyday.

laugh out loud, you think i dont know that? isolation means your working out each targeted muscle individually, hence the word "isolation". each day i would workout 2 diff muscles max, 3 sets each with individual reps of 5-8, high density lifts. for example, monday = chest and triceps, tuesday = back and bicep, etc... im working out upper body everyday but im not working out every muscle everyday, dont insult my intelligence man, laugh out loud

anyways, that type of workout is more calorie burning that weight gaining, its toning rather than bulking. compound lifts like squats, dead lifts, military presses, bench, etc are mass gaining workouts. obviously these exercises dont isolate but rather workout multiple muscles and a time. with high weight, good form, and a good diet, you'll pack on pounds. thats how i gained that 10 pounds in a matter of a week.

yea, i weighed 130 from late middle school to around end of sophomore year when i weighed 140 (from just working out), i stayed at 140 until a couple weeks ago. its really pretty simple. eat. alot. if you already think you eat alot, eat more. i used to stuff myself everyday like a pig and i wouldnt gain weight.

i could type out a detailed idea but those are already accessible on the internet, so here's a basic summary:

breakfast: try to eat as soon as you wake up, this is an important meal because your muscles are starved from 8 hours of not eating. make sure to eat a balanced meal with lots of vitamins, protein, and carbs. this is hard for me as i have to drive an hour to school and im already waking up late at 6:30, so i eat a bowl of cereal, 2 poptarts, and a 24oz shake of weight gain mix, bananas, peanut butter, and milk.

between meals: you should be eating every 2-3 hours. between meals i usually take peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to school along with a small protein shake (same one as above, but around 16oz). sometimes ill stop at wendys or taco bell too.

before workout: i usually get some type of burger from sonic or wendys, something with alot of calories and carbs, this is important for the energy you're going to spend in the gym.

post workout: most important meal of the day. if you dont have a meal or a protein shake high in calories/carbs/protein, you may as well not workout. this is a time when you're muscles need the most energy to rebuild themselves. I usually just have the same smoothie i made above, around 24oz. for the shake people make with water instead of milk for faster absorption. i however, go for taste rather than efficiency

before bed: here you need something high in protein that takes longer to digest and absorb. i usually just have a couple glasses of milk and *maybe* another protein shake. some people take supplements like casein but that requires more money, so i usually just drink lots of milk. (i did get a sample pack of casein from supplement depot, ill try it next week)





so all in all, i was having 3 protein shakes a day with "serious mass" (1250cal, 252carb, 50g protein per serving, a serving is alot so i split each shake to 1/2 a serving) with big meals and LOTS of snacks in between. i was eating a rough estimate of 3000cals a day.

if you're gonna do this, be careful, slowly increase your cal intake, cause i did it abruptly and my body definitely reacted, i was shitting twice a day, and i was ripping hind-quarters a ton, laugh out loud, this is not a good mix when your at school all day and home is an hour away.

Long post is long. Anyway, I've been on n0 explode since last christmas and me and my friends have renamed it angry juice. It has trace amounts of creatine in it, but the reason you take it is because it gets you fucking CRAZY on the weights. I drink a bottle of water mixed with a scoop of it during each 30 minute workout. In my routine I hit biceps twice, then triceps, thighs, chest, back, calves, and abs. Without n0 explode i just wouldn't have the energy to do it - I'm focusing on low reps using close to my max weight in every machine in sets of 6-4-4-crash.

To give you an idea, I've taken two people with me to workout on two different occasions. The first time, the guy kept up with me reasonably well but the strain gave him a hernia the next day and he's still recovering. The other time the guy got halfway through before having to quit and run out and throw up. In both cases, more carbs with a glass of n0 explode would have helped a ton. It's expensive but one 40 dollar can will last you 3-4 months of 3 day a week workouts, which is what I do. My routine wasn't consistent before I came to college, which is why the first can lasted so long, but now I'm tearing through it. If you're serious about getting the most efficient workout, I highly recommend the stuff - I feel like I'm progressing so fast I=straight creatine wouldn't have a very noticeable effect. I've gained 13 pounds since I came here in late August and it's all very visible muscle, and now that I'm optimizing my diet and supplementing it with the animal pak vitamins I'm expecting to step up the weight gain by magnitudes.

That's one problem I have, is getting sick mid work out. Sean, I don't see how you can eat a burger before you work out. I would be blowing chunks with my first set.

Eating heavy, rich food before working out sucks, but a decent substitution is to wolf down a couple power bars with high carb counts - they sit easier and still give you the energy to burn (especially if supplemented with n0 explode).

3000*7=21,000
21,000 ≠ 35,000 to gain 10 pounds if you were comatose (i.e., not doing any exercise at all).
So you did not gain 10 pounds in a week. Maybe a few but mostly it's retained water from high sodium (y halo thar fast food burgers). You lost most of it when you because you lose fluids when you're sick.

Your post was too long, and I am in no mood you never gained 10 pounds.
