So I guess we're now on the fourth incarnation of the rantshack with our move to zetaboards. We (sort of mostly John) have added a lot of cool features and stuff, like the links just under our sick new banner (thanks vlad): one leads to the rantshack store and the other to a donations page where people can donate directly towards ad removal. There's also a new option in your profile to put your favorite color, which will now display under your post count in all of your posts. We'll probably add more random profile additions like that as we think of them. We took out the never-used warning boxes to make room for that. In the same area you may notice MEMBER or other titles written in 28 days later font, which looks cool. John's working on trophies or something that he calls them, which also show up under avatars for doing stuff like MAKING GOOD BANNERS AND SHIT YEEEAAAAAA.

Most importantly, zetaboards have some kind of bot protection built in so we can reopen registration yay. The shoutbox is MIA at the moment but maybe we can put it back soon, that would rock. So have fun with the new shack, and watch out for the fun times, they'll getcha.

DarkSteele wanted me to make an announcement for the shirts so here it is. I saw blackguard17 wearing one today and it actually looked really professional, and only 15 bucks. I'll probably get a Ryan is a bitch one myself, and maybe one were talking about that says "huge rpeen irl". Are you guys seeing this page that now loads and you have to click a little button to even continue to our site? Someone go get a better host, cjb.net just licked my nut for the last time.

The first thing you'll notice is the new skin, courtesy of Darksteele. Because of his contribution to The Shack he has been made moderator of the new World of Warcraft forum. You may have also noticed that the forums have been moved around a bit, mainly in an effort to keep the front page of the forums looking clean. For example, you'll now find sports, music, anime, and hobby gaming as sub forums within the Entertainment forum. We have also replaced the misc category with the gaming category, which includes the old video games forum, guild wars, and the new WoW forum. The gunz and connect four forums have been retired to the archives, a "new" forum at the bottom of the page. One last thing - Element, if you would, please remove the "Don't Forget About Us" line in our banner, as summer is now over and we shouldn't have to worry about people forgetting about us now. If you want to have words there, maybe something like "Kicking Asses Since 1879" or "Your Daily Dose of Ass Kicking".

Anyways, I found out about Cake a couple weeks ago from a friend. I quickly came to like them from their funky style music and downright clever and hilarious lyrics. They sound alot different than lots of the stuff me and a lot of you listen to, so it's good to listen to some of their shit for a change.

News Item of the Week

I know there has been lots of flaming and disappointment going on about the board skin issue. Now I can't promise you an actual new SKIN, but hopefully we will be putting up a poll for which colors we should change the board to within the week. Feel free to submit colors that you like and we will add them to the poll, and infact I encourage this. Just keep in mind you need to submit 3 different colors or shades, and you can't just say "I like red", we need the actual color, like a picture of it. (see how right now theres three different blues?)

Hope everyone passed their finals and/or classes so they dont have to do summer school. That would suck.
